Camp Card Sale Update - 4.28.2020

Camp Card Sales

We hope you are as excited as we are about the opportunity to interact with our Scouting friends and families again through the Camp Card program. We realize this will be a slow integration, but nevertheless it will be through safe social distancing. Before we began Scouting at home activities, we had heard great stories about how easy the Camp Cards are to sell. Customers like the vendors included on the card this year and are enjoying the savings of over $100.

After much research and planning, we are able to provide you with the opportunity to sell Camp Cards online. For Scouts to sell online they will need a username to give to the customer in order to receive credit for the sale. The unit will need to know the username for each Scout to prevent duplication.

Here are three examples of how to create a username and stay within the youth protection policies:
  1. The unit may wish to assign names like Scout1, Scout2, etc. to each Scout.
  2. The unit might allow each Scout to make up a name like MegaScout, Super Scout, or Going Camping.
  3. The unit could have the Scout use their first name and last initial (example JamesP)

How will this work? The customer will go the website, click here, and enter the Scout’s username and unit #. The customer will be asked for the number of Camp Cards they would like to purchase. The Customer will complete the credit card information and mailing address. Last, the Council will mail the Camp Card to the customer with no cost to the customer or the unit.

At the time of final settlement with the Middle Tennessee Council, a report will be provided to the unit leader on the total number of Camp Cards sold online. We worked quickly to make this process as simple and efficient as possible.

As a reminder, once you begin to sell again (based on local recommendations) be sure to contact each location the day before arrival for a scheduled point of sale date. You must follow procedures related to proper social distancing provided by the CDC and by local and national health professionals.

The changes in the Camp Card Sale Calendar (original dates were in April and May) are:
  • Camp Card Sale ends June 5th.
  • All monies are due by June 10th to receive the full 50% commission*.

*Remember, units keep their commission on the front end. All unsold cards must be turned in with your final payment ($2.50 is paid to Council for each card sold or not returned or lost).

If you have any questions on how to proceed with this year’s sale, please contact your District Camp Card Chair, District Executive or me. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you at Camp!
